- Are a Canadian citizen, or
- Are a permanent resident of Canada, or
- Hold current and valid authorization (i.e., a work permit) under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada) to engage in employment within the practice of the profession
In order to assess whether you meet this requirement, the College requires certain information and supporting documentation from you.
- In Section 6 of the General Application Form, you must confirm whether you are eligible to work in Canada.*
- You must also submit a copy of one of the following documents as proof of your eligibility to work in Canada:*
- Canadian birth certificate
- Certificate of Canadian Citizenship (front and back)
- Canadian citizenship card (front and back)

- Valid Canadian passport

- Valid work permit under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada) that authorizes you to engage in employment within the practice of the profession*
*Are you providing a copy of a work permit as evidence of eligibility to work in Canada?
- If so, be sure to complete the consent portion of Section 6 of the General Application Form. That section asks for your consent to impose terms, conditions, or limitations (TCLs) on your Certificate of Registration that relate to your work permit.
- If you do not provide consent on the General Application Form, the process will be delayed and additional paperwork will be required with respect to the requirement to be eligible to work in Canada.
