College obtains Court Order against Yvonne Tumabil
The College of Early Childhood Educators (the “College”) protects the public by ensuring individuals do not represent themselves as registered, accountable early childhood educators when they are not members in good standing with the College.
In March 2020, Tumabil agreed to an Order from the Ontario Superior Court prohibiting her from using the RECE or ECE designations. Tumabil is not an RECE and has never been a member of the College. She is not entitled to use the RECE designation or claim to be an early childhood educator.
The Early Childhood Educators Act, 2007, prohibits anyone from presenting themselves as members of the College when they are not. Only registered members of the College can legally practise the profession of early childhood education in Ontario and use the protected titles Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), Early Childhood Educator (ECE) and their French equivalents.
Use the public register to find out if someone is a member in good standing with the College.
