As a lifelong learner and a newly registered Early Childhood Educator, I bring a unique perspective to the table, rooted in a deep belief that knowledge is power and our profession is imperative to the improvement of early childhood education. Having raised my own children, I understand firsthand the transformative impact of quality early childhood education. My decision to run for the Council is propelled by a passion for making early learning accessible and welcoming to all. I firmly believe that our profession brings quality and strength to early learning, and that the college serves as a vessel to increase the fortitude, respect, and dignity surrounding Registered Early Childhood Education. Self-Identification (if any): |
As a proud person of color, I prioritize respect for every individual, guided by the principle of treating others as I wish to be treated. My empathetic leadership involves connecting before correcting, emphasizing active listening to distinguish myself in my career. Understanding and embracing diversity are fundamental in governing a profession dedicated to the well-being of children and families, fostering inclusivity and equity. |
Statement: In my perspective, God created two distinct worlds: one characterized by materialism and the other, a world of innocence. I proudly choose to dedicate myself to the latter. For me, childcare isn’t just a job; it’s a heartfelt commitment to prioritize the safety and needs of children above all else. Serving in the childcare industry, I view leadership as a responsibility to put others first. As a supervisor, I embody the principle that leaders eat last, always considering the well-being of children, families, and staff before making decisions. My dedication to the childcare industry goes beyond professional obligations; it’s a heartfelt calling. I approach my role as a self-learner, combining the wisdom gained from books with a genuine passion for the well-being of children. I emphasize the importance of emotional intelligence, urging my staff to think differently and act uniquely. A high intelligence quotient, marked by rational thinking and purposeful actions, is crucial. If entrusted with the role, I commit to leading by example, ensuring that my actions align with my principles. My approach is built on honesty, ethics, and a profound dedication to the holistic development of the children and the well-being of families and staff. I am confident that with these qualities, I will not only be an effective leader but also a valuable asset to the team, contributing to the growth and success of our shared mission. A Proud RECE, |

Self-Identification (if any): | Hello Everyone, I don’t normally self-identify because I live my life with the belief that we are all human and it is my essential duty to be kind. I a woman of color born in Jamaica then raised in St. Martin. It has been 6 years that I have immigrated to Canada. |
Statement: It has been my pleasure to serve in our beautiful profession for the past 5 years. I had the opportunity after graduating, from Georgian College to get a job as a supervisor, for a daycare in Collingwood. I faithfully served the families and community for almost two years. This was a challenging time, as we were just starting the pandemic in 2020. Here was I, fresh from graduating with the responsibility not only to navigate the unknowns, but to also do so, while being responsible for a team. It was a challenge that allowed me to grow and learn, and serve in circumstances that were not the easiest for anyone to deal with. As a team we had to find a sense of purpose. Flexibility and adaptability became our middle names. More than anything we learned how much compassion, patience, kindness was the glue that held everything together. The opportunity then presented itself for the role of an Educational Supervisor with the same company. I applied and I was selected for this role. It was a transition that now required me to provide expertise to 6 play school’s in Simcoe County. Recently, I have applied for the role as the Coordinator for the French Early On Centers in Simcoe County. This is an area that I am excited to embark on. I believe that the diversity of my experience would be an excellent addition to the council. As a member it would truly be an honour to serve our community |
